THEFT 1700 Central Some $3,000 worth of corrugated metal sheets being used in a construction project in the alley behind Hewn Bakery, in the 1700 block of Central Street, were stolen around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
800 Hinman A catalytic converter was removed from a 2004 Honda in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 2 p.m. Thursday.
900 Maple A package delivered to a residence in the 900 block of Maple Avenue was taken between noon Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
1400 Chicago A package delivered to a residence in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue was taken around 4 p.m. Thursday.
BATTERY 1117 Howard Maricruz Ortega, 22, of 5636 N. Spaulding Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1117 Howard St. at 8:18 p.m. Thursday and charged with battery.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE 355 Ridge Millard O. Smith, 50, of 7074 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 355 Ridge Ave. at 9:59 p.m. Thursday and charged with criminal damage to property.
SHOTS HEARD 2000 Jackson Gunshots were reported in the 2000 block of Jackson Avenue at 8:39 p.m. Thursday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
TRAFFIC 140 Ridge Christian Escalera Pineda, 32, of 1729 W. Touhy Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 140 Ridge Ave. at 11:28 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation.
